Light and spacious, the living area has an L-shaped sofa where you can put your feet up and enjoy the Smart TV and Netflix in front of an electric fire…cosy!
French doors lead out from the very sociable open plan kitchen/dining area to a large, private lawned garden. With patio furniture and parasol, a Weber BBQ, this space has everything you need to make the most of sunny days, and there’s space for the kids and dogs to run around!
Upstairs, the bedrooms have generous room heights and beautifully shaped windows, making them elegant space to return to and curl up after a busy day. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, this property’s perfect for an escape with friends or family.
Old School Mews is found only minutes away from the cliff path with direct access to the beach, as well as the town with a variety of gift shops, bars and restaurants. For a meal off the beaten track, stop off at The Hideaway - a cliff top restaurant with stunning sea views.

The Swysh Team are here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. We're only a phone call or message away. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival.
There is a private parking space for one car to the front of the house and unrestricted on road parking is available on Howard Road.
The property will be available from 3pm on your day of arrival and check out time on the day of departure is 10am.
The property is equipped with everything you will need including utilities, bed linen and towels and a travel cot for the little traveller.
Red Funnel vehicle ferry discounts are available to guests upon request once the booking has been confirmed.

April 2024Second time staying in School Mews - loved it just as much this time !! Such a great space, has everything you need and more. We went exploring a lot and it was always lovely to get 'home' - kick the shoes off, pour the wine and get the nibbles out in front of a great film. With crazy busy lives, fantastic just to kick back and relax in this gorgeous house!

April 2024We had a wonderful weeks stay here the place was perfect for the 6 of us. Lots of space and the kicthen/dining area is even bigger than the photos suggest as was the living room with plenty of space for us all to sit comfortably. Kicthen had so many utensils pots and pans plates bowls basically everything you could need for a holiday stay. The place was clean and tidy and a lovely touch was the selection of games as well. The rooms were spacious we loved the high ceilings and beds were comfortable. Perfect location and parking was mot struggle for the extra car either. We would recommend and would book again. Thanks so much for making our stay in IOW perfect!

March 2024Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Küchenausstattung war ausgezeichnet. Geschirr war in großer Menge vorhanden. Der Kühlschrank war groß und in der gleichen Größe gab es einen Gefrierschrank. Die Schlafräume waren sehr großzügig . Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und konnten uns auch bei schlechterem Wetter gut beschäftigen.

February 2024Great place to stay It really is a much bigger house than it looks in the picture. Had a couple of very minor problems which were sorted very quickly. Great location and fantastic walks along the cliffs and down into Shanklin. A fantastic comfortable place to explore the island from with lots to do on your doorstep. September 2023We wanted a family sized home for our long weekend to the IOW and this place was perfect. The home is gorgeous from the outside and very spacious inside - with a generous sized garden which we enjoyed in the sunshine and into the late evening as it stayed so warm! It was the perfect setting for a BBQ and the table and chairs outside was enough space for us all Check in was clear and easy and the amount of useful kitchen pots, pans, dishwasher tablets, salt, pepper etc all made it super easy for the stay too. The bedrooms were all a great size with clean towels out for us all and the TV was perfect for us with kids too with Netflix etc all on there. Parking was easy with one space on the drive and ample parking in the road too for multiple vehicles with no trouble. The location was great for a quick walk to get a sea view and very central for easy access for where we were looking to go to. We had a great stay and would definitely stay again; thank you so much!

June 2023We had a fab stay at the Old School Mews. What a beautiful building, excellent conversion from a school. More than enough space for 6 people to sleep, cook, eat, and lounge. The garden was well loved by my daughter and her dog. Shanklin is a great base to see the island. It is an easy walk into Shanklin town centre or a lovely walk along the coastal path to the beach. We were happy to have had the opportunity to stay here, we would definitely stay again but may not be able to due to the rise in costs for next year :(

March 2023Had a fabulous stay! Booked as a weekender to get together with friends to walk, sightsee, eat, drink and most important of all: relax and catch up in a beautiful house. The house was exactly as described- spacious, spotlessly clean. our bedrooms were en suite with a great additional bathroom and downstairs loo. All of the equipment that you could possibly need is supplied- the only exception to this: we couldn't find a bread knife! Pretty sure that it was there, we just couldn't find it

March 2023We had an amazing stay and the house was even better than expected. It was so convenient for walking the coastal path and nipping out in the car. We were 6 adults and we had plenty of space and each couple had their own bathroom. The hosts were so helpful, booking our ferry and being on call to advise our panicky husbands when we couldn’t find the rugby on the TV! It was perfect and we’d stay again in a heartbeat.

February 2023Lovely accommodation and perfectly placed to visit the rest of the island. Could do with another off road parking spot (there is only 1 spot) but we had no issue finding on-road parking close to the house. In-house welcome pack mentioned Sonos amp hooked up to speakers in the ceiling, but this was all disconnected with no way of hooking it up, but that was the only issue!

November 2022The photos of this place don't do it justice! The kitchen/dining room and lounge are both enormous but also have a very homely feel. The bedrooms were all a great size with comfortable beds and plenty of room for clothes storage. Two of the bedrooms are en suite and there is also a further bathroom and a downstairs toilet. There is a large garden which our two dogs loved! The house is a two minute walk from the coastal path and a ten minute walk from the esplanade where you can easily get onto the beach. Some great restaurants nearby, especially The Hideaway which is on the coastal path, and a must-visit place! Overall, we could not fault this property and we look forward to going back as soon as possible!

September 2022We had a very enjoyable stay. The house is lovely - spacious, good sized garden (great for our two dogs), very comfortable and well equipped. Check in and check out was simple. There is a coastal path a minutes walk from the house, left goes to Sandown and right goes to Shanklin. Just perfect. Please note the house is on the corner of a busy road but it didn’t bother us at all.
