If peace, quiet and rural tranquillity are what you’re looking for, then Tequila Sunrise has you covered. Sitting in an enviable location, amongst the woody grounds of Roebeck Country Park, this crisp and contemporary lodge makes the ideal base for a countryside getaway (while still being only a quick 5-minute drive from the bustling town of Ryde).

The space

Sleek, sophisticated and truly relaxing, Tequila Sunrise offers surprisingly spacious accommodation and all the mod-cons you could ask for. After parking up outside, you’ll discover a light and airy open-plan living area, with cosy lounge (featuring a Smart TV), intimate dining area and a stylish kitchen complete with cooker, microwave, dishwasher and even an air fryer! Sleeping quarters are to the rear, with an inviting master bedroom and en suite shower room, as well as a relaxing twin room with an adjoining bathroom.

Surrounding the lodge is a wraparound decked balcony, no doubt where you’ll be spending a lot of your time. From here, impressive views stretch out across the Ashey Valley and over to the chalky slopes of Culver Down. With comfy seating on standby, it’s the perfect spot to decompress, take in the views and perhaps mix up a glass or two of this lodge’s namesake cocktail: the Tequila Sunrise.

The neighbourhood

Roebeck Country Park is a family-owned site, where holiday lodges such as Tequila Sunrise sit amongst ancient woodland, newly-planted orchards and a private fishing lake (open to those with a fishing licence looking to reel in some carp or tench). Aside from the stunning views across undulating countryside, there are also red squirrels, geese and plenty of woodland birds to keep an eye out for too.

Just a stone’s throw away, you’ll find the atmospheric Isle of Wight Steam Railway, where historic engines pull Victorian carriages along a 5 ½ mile stretch of rural track. Also close by is the seaside town of Ryde, home to an eclectic mix of shops, stylish cafés and the UK’s oldest pier. While you’re in town, don’t miss Department in Cross Street (a stunning new arts centre in a restored former department store) and if you’re down by the sandy beach, make sure you stroll along to see Appley Tower (an ornamental folly straight out of a fairytale!)
