Located on the Island’s western tip and just 150 yards from the crisp, clear waters of Colwell Bay is Sunseekers - a sleek, modern and recently revamped home, offering everything you could want (and more) from a relaxing seaside stay. Following the road downhill, you’ll soon come to the lapping waves of the Solent, where you can take in the outstanding evening sunsets and dine on top-notch, freshly-caught seafood at five-star restaurant, The Hut.

The space

Pulling up on the driveway at Sunseekers, guests will find a smart, well-presented home, renovated from top to bottom in 2022. Stepping through the door, there’s a comfortable open-plan lounge to one side, with inviting L-shaped sofa and 60-inch Smart TV. Slipping into the next room, a sophisticated navy and white kitchen awaits, with an American fridge freezer and shiny range cooker - which are bound to tempt even the most reluctant of chefs to don their apron and get cooking. Also on this level is a dining area (with seating for eight) a handy utility room (including a washing machine and tumble dryer), plus an accessible snug room featuring a luxury double sofa and en suite wet room - which, if requested before arrival, can easily be transformed into sleeping quarters for extra guests too.

Climbing the stairs to the first floor, you’ll find four airy, spacious and oh-so-relaxing bedrooms, including three ‘zip and link’ Superking rooms (two with their own spick and span en suites) as well as a bunk bed room with shared access to bedroom three and the family bathroom. Once you’ve unpacked those bags and settled in, take a look outside at the peaceful private garden. Bubbling away in the corner is a four-person hot tub (great for a dip on those long summer evenings) and an outside shower for washing off that salt after an early morning swim in the sea and your doggie's sandy paws. There’s also a lawn, patio and decking area, kitted out with sun loungers, dining furniture and a Napoleon gas BBQ too.

The neighbourhood

Colwell is a tranquil seaside neighbourhood set on the Island’s northwest coast, with views across the sparkling blue sea towards Hampshire. Its undulating coastline provides an array of impressive walks leading to Yarmouth, Totland and the scenic, heather-covered heights of Headon Warren. On the shoreline, deckchairs and beach huts are available to rent, as well as paddle boards for those looking to take to the waters.

Heading inland is the town of Freshwater, once home to Victorian poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, as well as pioneering female photographer Julia Margaret Cameron (both of whose historic homes are open to visit). Today, the town is home to a range of independent shops and some culinary destinations too - such as rustic The Red Lion pub and the inviting Piano Café (housed in a shop once owned by Queen Victoria’s piano tuner). There’s also the West Wight Sports Centre with its indoor swimming pool and climbing wall and down in Freshwater Bay you can hire a sea kayak to explore the caves or even go coasteering.

Sunseekers is set in a quiet street close to Colwell Bay, only a few minute’s drive away from the Wightlink ferry terminal to Lymington and within easy walking distance of both Freshwater and Totland. There is parking for several cars at the front of the property and an accessible entrance for those with limited mobility.

The Swysh Team are here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. We're only a phone call or message away. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival.

Other things to note

We can offer heavily discounted ferry travel for you on both Red Funnel and Wight Link. Please let us know of your interest at the time of booking and we can provide you with a quote.

Beach towels are provided for the hot tub and there is even a welcome hamper for you and dog towels for your four legged friend!

The property will be available from 3pm on your day of arrival and check out time on the day of departure is 10am. If available we can offer flexible check-in/out.

The property is equipped with everything you will need including utilities, super fast WiFi, bed linen, towels and beach towels. In the shed you'll find lots of beach items including boogie boards, sun umbrella, snorkels and even a paddle board.

Stayed for a family holiday and felt so at home. The kids loved the play room, hot tub and fantastic large garden. The owners have made it extremely family friendly and was extremely well equipped. We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Sunseekers. The House is beautifully decorated throughout & was spotless when we arrived. It had everything we needed & much more!! The Garden was wonderful! Hot Tub,BBQ & lovely Garden Furniture to relax on. OurTwo Dogs also loved it, plenty of room for them to run & play & totally enclosed. They also loved the Doggie hamper on arrival & we thoroughly enjoyed our Bottle of Fizz that was let in the fridge on arrival. The Location is just perfect & very peaceful. Only a few minutes walk to the Beautiful Colwell Beach. We could not fault anything & Suzanne & Sharron where brilliant from booking, during our stay & after! We would definitely recommend this Beautiful House & will definatley be visiting again. Thank you so much & we cant wait to come back!!

We spent four magical nights at Sunseeker and it was a perfect base for exploring the Isle of Wight. The home was perfectly laid out and had all the essentials and then some for cooking delicious dinners at home. The backyard was also great for our dog who felt right at home and appreciated having the space for games of fetch. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

A fabulous house with great facilities and garden a short hop from the beach, a breakfast cafe and a fab restaurant The Hut. Easy to walk to the next bay with another lovely waterfront restaurant, and another beach and more great views. A lovely location all round. . Communication was great, check in easy, and the jacuzzi much enjoyed. We appreciated having ferries booked for us at a discount and finding a lot of local information upon arrival. The house was equipped for everything you could possibly want. We were a group of 5 ladies, and we found it ideal. I also can see that it would be a wonderful holiday home for a family with children, or teenagers. Would love to return

The proximity to the beach was a real plus point, but even when relaxing in the house we felt very comfortable. I’m not sure where to start with this being the best airbnb we have ever stayed in - I’ll try to keep it short although could write lots! This was our first time to the IoW with our baby, toddler and dog and we couldn’t have asked for more. Suzanne was so helpful with flexible check in/check out times, contacted to offer discounted ferry bookings and to enquire about travel cots. The whole house has been done to a really high spec - rain showers everywhere, fab hot tub with outdoor shower really handy for dog/post beach, comfortable beds, all appliances brilliant, so many towels provided as well as beach towels! This house is equipped with everything you could think of and more - little touches like shopping bags/umbrellas/basic larder/washing machine/dishwasher capsules just makes life so much easier! Even a welcome pack for the dog was provided - we didn’t use this but the thought meant a lot. Prosecco in the fridge on arrival

From booking to leaving , Suzanne from Swysh was amazingly helpful and always replied immediately. She sorted my daughters ferry tickets , for her car and family at a discounted rate which was very much appreciated for her young family. The house was spotless on arrival and everything was good quality from utensils to linen and furniture. Unfortunately the weather was against us for nearly all of our holiday but thank goodness for the hot tub it definitely saved the day for our grandchildren. The location was fantastic just a few minutes walk from the beach , had the weather been better it would of been amazing. The Longbeach cafe and bar was a great hit with the kids and takeaway meals , really reasonable too . We also visited The Hut again and the food was amazing, very busy so glad I booked online before we arrived. We will definitely use Sunseekers again , Thanks Swysh

We had a super time staying in your lovely home Suzanne thank you! The property is newly renovated and beautifully decorated. Suzanne has thought of everything to ensure visitors have a super comfortable stay and have everything they might need. The hot tub is a real treat and the SUP and boogie boards were great fun in Colwell Bay :) Loads of great suggestions for places to visit in the area. From the first point of contact, to wrapping up our stay at the end, Suzanne has been so easy to contact, responsive and helpful, even arranging the ferry booking for us.
